The Lads to Leaders had a great night caroling at Legacy and TruCare Nursing Homes on December 19th! The carolling brought a smile to the faces of not only the residents of the nursing homes, but also those who were caroling. So many of those we visited expressed how much they miss being with their church family. Our group was small due to so many being out with illness, but we were not short on volume or enthusiasm. One of our members at Crockett Road sewed lovely blankets and donated them to the lads to leaders group to they could pass them out to our members. They also received a Christmas card with pictures of our youth and children’s activities through the year.
Following the caroling, the group was invited to Doug and Alison Rader's home for hot chocolate and cookies! We really appreciate our Lads to Leaders group and the sponsors who work so hard to help mold these young lives to be faithful Christians.

After the evening service on December 15th, David and Jennifer Sparks hosted a Christmas Fellowship at their home for the church. Everyone brought their favorite "finger food", and David and Jennifer provided several dishes as well as Christian hospitality at it's finest. They opened their entire home to the church so the Crockett Road Church of Christ family could enjoy spending some quality time together. The food was delicious and you can't find any better people to be with than our brothers and sisters in Christ! We really appreciate David and Jennifer for their hospitality and for all that they do for the church.

There were 31 members from the church who went to see the Christmas "Land of Lights" in Athens on Saturday night, December 14th. They took the big church bus and stopped on the way back to enjoy a meal together at Rounder's Pizza in Athens.

The annual Christmas Dinner Fellowship was held at 6:30 p.m. on December 3, 2019, in the activity building. We had 198 people sign-up for the fellowship, and everyone had a great time. The meal consisted of fried chicken, smoked brisket and smoked link sausage (provided by Doug Sumrall), cole slaw (provided by Charles McCullough), fruit salad (provided by Willette Rasure), garden salad (provide Glenda Baskin), green beans, baked potatoes, and Blue Bell Ice Cream. Carl Rutledge provided all the tea for everyone. We appreciate all of those who brought food and those who worked in the kitchen. The food was very good, and there was plenty for everyone.
After the meal, the Bible Hour group put on a play about the life of Moses. They put in a lot of time preparing for the play, and it certainly showed. It was great!!! All of the children did great!!!
It is such a blessing to belong to a congregation that is so close to each other and who enjoy each other's fellowship. There is a harmony in the Crockett Road Church of Christ that doesn't exist in many churches. We love and appreciate each and every member here.

One of the many things that Keri & Ben Rhone have done each year since Ben became youth minister at the Crockett Road Church of Christ is preparing and serving the "Singles and Single Again" group a Thanksgiving meal. They (along with Keri's parents, Jill & Steve Camp) prepare a delicious home cooked meal each year that is always a hit with the group. Ben recently stepped down as the youth minister, but that didn't stop this wonderful family from preparing a delicious meal for the "Singles and Single Again" group this year. We really appreciate Keri & Ben and Steve & Jill for all that they do for the church.

After working with the church for the past five years as the Youth Minister, Ben Rhone has asked for the elders to look for someone to take over those responsibilities. He opened Rhone Funeral Home 3 years ago, and business has grown to the point where he felt that he was not able to devote the time to the youth group that is needed. Ben and Keri have done a tremendous job with the youth group, and we really appreciate all of their hard work and dedication. They have been wonderful servants to our Lord. They said that they will still be active in the church and will be glad to continue to serve the Lord when they are able to do so.
The church presented Ben & Keri with a Certificate Of Appreciation and a check as a token of thanks for all that they have done for the youth group. We wish them the best of luck in their business and look forward to continue worshipping with them.

The annual "Trunk Or Treat" was held after the Wednesday night service on October 30, 2019. Since the weather was cold and rainy, the event was moved to inside the Activity Building. We had a great turnout of both trick or treaters and candy givers! It was so much fun to see the kids dressed up as all kinds of things, but it was just as much fun to watch the adults as they gave and gave and gave! All of the children left with their sacks/baskets full of goodies!
We really appreciate being a part of such a loving and generous congregation. They are always willing to do whatever they can to help the children of the church.

We appreciate all of those who are so willing to give of their time to help the church. God wants us to be workers in the vineyard, and these folks are always cheerful workers and enjoy their time together.

Alison Rader hosted a "Ladies Night Out" for all the ladies of the church. Alison provided the home, the grill and all the sides for the meat, and the ladies brought whatever meat they wanted to be cooked. Alison cooked while the ladies enjoyed visiting with each other. The swimming pool was open for anyone who wanted to dip their toes in the water or even swim, but there were strict instructions that no pictures would be taken of the ladies while they were swimming. haha All the ladies had a wonderful time, and they really appreciate Alison for planning and hosting the special night for them.

The Crockett Road Church of Christ was host for the Summer Youth Series on July 16, 2019. There were almost 100 in attendance for the event. Ben Rhone was the speaker, and he spoke on the subject of being "Unashamed Of Our Self Image". He had several points that he made while teaching the teens about how they were created by God, and they should have a good self-image of themselves. He expressed to the audience that they need to be content with how God made them and strive to do God's will. Only when they can be content within will they find true happiness and be able to stop focusing on the world and start focusing on God.
Following the lesson, everyone met in the activity building for Mazzio's Pizza and desserts.
We appreciate the ladies of the church who supplied desserts for the event. Everything was delicious.

The Ladies Class held their Ladies Class Luncheon after meeting for their last class before the summer break on May 7, 2019. All the ladies prepared a favorite dish or two, and joined together for a delicious meal. The husbands were also invited to the luncheon, and they really enjoyed the home cooking. After the meal, everyone was able to get some estate planning from representatives from Harbor Hospice and also from "My East Texas Estate Plan, PLLC" out of Tyler. Lawyers Casey Cook and Kirby Herrington spoke about ways the elderly (50 and above) can plan ahead so their assets can be protected. They said they offer free consultation on the first visit if anyone is interested.
