If you’re not in the Christmas spirit before you go caroling you should definitely be in holiday mode when you’re done! Our group had a wonderful time Thursday evening. We ran short of time and were coming up on bedtime for some of the folks we intended to sing to, so we will have to make up for it later.
Afterward we enjoyed refreshments and sweet fellowship. Thanks to all who came out tonight and spent some time spreading Christmas cheer!

The Annual Christ Party was held on December 5, 2023 in the Activity Building. We had 187 turn-out for this years party. The meal was catered by Brenda Bing, and it was delicious! The menu consisted of chicken and dressing, pork loin with wild rice, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, green beans, homemade bread, banana pudding, a delicious layered strawberry dessert with chocolate covered strawberries on top, sopapilla chessecake, and more! We really appreciate Brenda and her crew for providing such a delicious meal.
After the meal, the Bible Hour children and teachers presented a play about the birth of Christ. Everyone enjoyed it. In between scenes, the children sang Christmas songs to those in attendance. It was very entertaining. We appreciate all of the parents who have worked so hard to make the program such a success. It was great!
After the play, everyone joined together in the singing of Christmas Carols. After that, Santa came for a visit and gave all of the children a gift.
Upon arrival, everyone in attendance had signed in and guessed as to how many cookies were in a cookie jar. Clint Satterwhite and Shelia Link were the only two that got the correct number. After a couple of tie-breakers, Clint Satterwhite won the cookie jar. Before we left, a drawing was held for door prizes. The prizes were gingerbread houses and gumball machines that had originally been the centerpieces on some of the tables. The winners were Janae Evans, Henry Baker, Kenlee Davis, David Hawkins, Clint Ellis, Amy Camp, Jill Camp, Kyle Lock and Tiffany Bell.
A huge amount of work went into this years decorating. Several people spent several days decorating the activity building with the theme of Candy Land. Placemats said "Life Is Sweeter With Jesus". Lisa Lambert was the planner for this year's decorating. We would like to thank those who were involved with the decorating: Lisa & Mark Lambert, Linda Johnson, Shelia Link, Charla Link, Pam Gallaway, Kathy Chambless, Chasity Chambless, Jill Camp, Steve Camp, Marty Nash, Julie Waldon, Silas Waldon, Jane Shuhart, and Henry Baker.

We would like to thank Sonda for the food and for opening up her home. We would also like to thank those that helped her make this time together such a success.

Some signed get well cards, some restocked attendance cards in the auditorium, some washed communion vessels, some replaced light bulbs, others got the activity building ready for providing a meal for a family who has lost a family member, and others worked in the kitchen cleaning up after the meal. It was a joint effort, but we got a lot of things done. We appreciate everyone who took the time and effort to come and help.

The 2023 Trunk and Treat was held in the activity building after the evening worship service on October 29th. It had originally been scheduled to be held outside, but due to inclement weather, it was moved inside the activity building.

Doug and Alison Rader hosted the 2023 Pumpkin Carving for the youth of the church at their home on October 22nd. Alison posted the pictures on the left on facebook along with the quote below.
"Pumpkin carving is one of my favorite things about Halloween and it’s always more fun with a yard full of church friends! Also, when this amazing group of young people gets together it means we get to visit with their parents, who just happen to be some of our favorite people. Love our Crockett Road Church of Christ Family!
It was a pretty perfect evening, although next year we would enjoy a slightly cooler night so our soup flight would make more sense."
